This one-day, in-person workshop will focus on hands-on MSK skills specifically appropriate for kids aged 8-17. Using a case-based format that focuses on common pediatric orthopedic sport injuries and conditions, you will be given an opportunity to practice clinical reasoning, a variety of manual therapy techniques, and exercise prescription.
During this workshop, you will review basic manual and orthopedic skills such as:

Joint Mobilizations

Soft Tissue Techniques
-
Goniometry and Mobility Measurements
For each skill, we will review basic indications and precautions, handling techniques, and practical application of the technique, all appropriate for pediatric orthopedic populations.
These skills will be reviewed and applied to pediatric orthopedic and sports injury cases with various conditions, such as:

Patello Femoral Pain

Osgood Schlatter's

Sever's
-
Spondylolysis
-
Proximal Humeral Epiphysitis (Little League Shoulder)

Ligament Sprains
Each case will be presented with background on the condition, assessment techniques, and treatment strategies including both manual techniques and exercise recommendations, all with practical components to get you hands-on and moving.
This workshop will be a broad overview of background info, clinical approaches, and practical sessions. At the completion of the workshop, you will have practical knowledge and treatment strategies for some of the most common pediatric orthopedic injuries and beyond.
